Reflections of New Zealand

What a beautiful country New Zealand is. It exceeded all of our expectations.

Our first port of call was Bay of Islands where many New Zealanders come for holidays. Lots of sun and water sports.

Beautiful downtown Auckland with its colorful and vibrant suburbs. We wish we could have stayed longer and explored the surrounding areas. We did get in a lot in three days, but not nearly enough.

Hobbiton. an evening in the Shire. We won't forget this evening anytime soon. From the drive through the country to the magical little place called Hobbiton, it was so very special.

What a wonderful wine country tour we had in Napier. This is another place we would love to come back to just to visit the beautiful art deco city.

The Botanical Gardens of Wellington. This is a very hilly and windy city.

The beautiful botanical gardens at the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch.

We won’t forget the resilient people of Christchurch as they work to rebuild their city.

This yellow eyed penguin is about 16 weeks old and will be going out on his own very soon. Dunedin was very beautiful just like the rest of New Zealand.

Our journey through New Zealand ended in beautiful Milford Sound.  What a fabulous time we had and hope to make it back here some day, but now we are off to another amazing country, Australia. We a looking forward to more adventures in a part of the world we have never been. We will see you there.

We can see why you'd be reluctant to leave such a beautiful country. It looks like it has a bit of everything to offer.
Photography excellent as usual.
The blog continues to be a boon for us arm-chair travelers.
