Hi All,
Jer here.
Yesterday we were in Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia. The city has a wonderful public transportation system, we rode this tram from the ship to the city center.
The city has many beautiful buildings, both old and new. This is the train station.
One of the many beautiful churches.
The city has lots of narrow alleyways with cafes and small shops.
I even have my own street!
There is almost no graffiti in Melbourne. Maybe we need some of these guys in the USA.
We went to the memorial for Australia’s military. This is the WWII memorial with an eternal flame.
This building is the Shrine of Remembrance and it honors Australia’s fallen military. These kids were on a field trip, and they were all drawing a picture of the building. Love the cute uniforms.
Here is view of the city from the top of the Shrine of Remembrance. It was a cloudy day.
Notice the building with the face.
Next to the war memorial is the botanical garden, this is the entrance.
The first governor of Australia.
So that is a look at Melbourne. It is a beautiful, very clean city with way too much to see in our day and a half there. We are now at sea heading for our next port of Adelaide, we arrive there tomorrow at 9am. We had a short delay today when we stopped in Portland, Australia to put a passenger with a medical emergency into a hospital. Bye for now.
Jer and Helen
